Chiara Di Silvestro

Ms. Di Silvestro has a Master Degree in Environmental Engineering with a Master Thesis with the Energy Department. She has almost 15 years of experience in the consulting and engineering sector matured in company such as MWH (now Stantec), Tractebel Engineering (Engie Group) and now RINA Consulting. During her career she has developed engineering and management skills in conventional and renewable power plants and in the energy efficiency and climate change sector. Chiara has matured strong experience with financing institutions in the identification and definition of the bankability of project opportunities and she performed several energy efficiency audits for multinational clients around the world and for IFIs. Chiara is also experienced in delivering trainings and capacity building activities: recently she has trained a team of engineers in Santiago de Chile for two months on how to perform energy efficiency audits and every year since 2014 she hold a lecture a Milan’s Politecnico on resource efficiency in industry. At present, she is acting as energy expert in an EIB project aimed at implementing a training on climate resilience to EIB officers.

To strengthen her ability in managing projects and to consolidate her technical skills, Chiara has achieved the PMP (Project Management Professional) and the EGE (Expert in Energy Management) certifications.

Since the beginning of her career Chiara has been involved in EBRD credit lines such as TurSEFF and MidSEFF and currently she is PM and the gender expert for the EBRD’s GEFF Moldova programme and the PM for the EBRD’s GEFF Morocco II – Verification Consultant. Moreover, she is involved as GEFF expert in the GEFF Jordan and she is also running the MorSEFF Verification Consultant project.

Chiara has been the Project Manager of the EBRD’s Climate Resilience Studies on the electricity generation and transmission sectors in Turkey, Tunisia and Uzbekistan from 2016 to 2020 and she has developed her competencies in the estimation of the impacts of climatic variables on national energy systems. Moreover, she has been strongly involved in the definition of an Action Plan including the mitigation actions on selected power plants in the framework of the Climate Resilience study in Tunisia.

In spite her technical background, Chiara has also a strong interest in gender equality issues. At present she is implementing the Equal Opportunities Action Plan for a steel plant in Kazakhstan assigned to RINA by the EBRD.

Bettina Wittlinger de Lima

Mrs. Bettina Wittlinger de Lima is a Senior Finance Executive with over 25  years working as executive manager, senior consultant and project manager developing and implementing MSME solutions to Banks and Microfinance Institutions driving financial inclusion, in particular promoting gender equality.

With her global perspective and extensive work experience she advised financial institutions in designing sustainable financial products serving the MSME sector as well as the unserved and underbanked population with a strong focus on women and women entrepreneurs. Ms. Wittlinger de Lima has been actively involved in numerous gender focused SME Technical Assistance Projects including EBRD Women in Business Programmes and EBRD GEEF TA programmes as gender expert developing Women in Business value propositions and respective marketing strategies as well as supported numerous financial institutions to promote gender equality in their external and internal practices.

Bettina has also been heavily involved in developing gender training and workshops for bank staff to raise awareness and to disclose unconscious bias as well as developed capacity building and training to women entrepreneurs.

MS Wittlinger de Lima holds a master`s degree from Tübingen University in Economics. She furthermore holds a certification from the Harvard Business School in Strategic Leadership for Microfinance, as well as from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management in Project Management for Banking & Finance and has been author and co-author of a number of publications.
